The most helpful would be to <a href="http://www.marrow.org/HELP/join_the_registry.html" target="_window">join the registry</a> as a potential volunteer donor. <br /><br />Patients need donors who: <br />1. Are between the ages of 18 and 60. <br />2. Are willing to <a href="http://www.marrow.org/HELP/factors.html" target="_window">donate to any patient in need</a>. <br />3. Meet the <a href="http://www.marrow.org/HELP/med_guidelines_join.html" target="_window">health guidelines</a>. <br /><br />Before deciding to join, you should learn about the marrow and blood cell <a href="http://www.marrow.org/DONOR/steps_of_donation.html" target="_window">donation process</a>. If you decide to join, you will then complete a <a href="http://www.marrow.org/HELP/donor_registration_packet.pdf" target="_window">registration form</a> and answer questions about your <a href="http://www.marrow.org/HELP/health_history_questionnaire.html" target="_window">health history</a>. If you are eligible to be a donor based on your health history, you will then give a small blood sample or swab of cheek cells. This sample will be tested for your tissue type.
